How about a newsletter delivered to your inbox?
I started a newsletter years ago when I wanted to be able to communicate more with the writers who were part of the North Bay Writers Workshop that I began around 2009/2010. The workshops were always so rich and there was never enough time to share everything when we were together. I still remember the first missive I sent out, and all the fun responses.
As all things do, the newsletter has morphed over time and I expect it will continue to do so. I share what's on my mind about the #writinglife. I've shared news about upcoming events and opportunities, links and resources that interest me and that may be of use. I've enjoyed featuring newsletter readers. I've included a "column" that answers questions readers pose, and I'm happy to hear your questions to answer. You can reach me via the contact form here. Naturally, when I'm promoting new writing, I share information related about it. I feel strongly that those literary heroes and heroines who do the heavy lifting of writing reviews, conducting interviews and podcasts and the like deserve my support in getting eyes on their work.
Writing the newsletter takes a great deal of time and sometimes I wonder if I should let it go. Yet, I love to hear back from readers after it goes out and I'm reminded of why I take the time. Despite all our social media platforms, it's not always easy to connect with one another.
The newsletter goes out roughly once a month. I don't and wouldn't share the list with anyone. Readers are free to unsubscribe any time at all.
You can sign up here. If you have any problems, please use the contact form, or email me at peg at pegalfordpursell dot com.
